Il ne voulait pas manager. Il dirige aujourd'hui une organisation de 100 personnes. Récit d'une transmutation imprévue.
I never wanted to manage people.
Like many engineers, I saw my future as an expert, growing my technical expertise, solving increasingly complex problems, and mastering my craft. Leadership was something other people did in meeting rooms.
Yet throughout my career, challenges kept appearing that couldn't be solved with code alone. First a project, then a team, then an organization. What started as a temporary responsibility became a fascinating new problem space: helping people grow, aligning teams, and creating the conditions for success at scale.
In this talk, I'll share how a software engineer who actively avoided management gradually found himself leading a technology organization of 100+ people. It's a story about unexpected transformation, the misconceptions we hold about leadership, and how sometimes the career we never wanted becomes the one we cannot imagine leaving.
