Vibe coding: the art of coding without seeing the code

Norman was a developer before moving to the product side. He codes by talking with AI, without reading every line. With a live demo, he shows you where this way of working holds up and when you need to take back control.

In February 2025, Andrej Karpathy coined "vibe coding" for a way of programming where you let the AI carry you until you forget the code even exists. Since then the word is everywhere, and its meaning got lost along the way.

Norman Deschauwer, a former developer who moved to the product side, goes back to that original meaning. Coding by talking with AI rather than typing every line demands a different posture: describing the intent, judging the result, knowing when to take back control. With a live demo, he shows where this approach creates value, where it creates chaos, and where the line not to cross lies.

A primer for those who want to build with AI while knowing what they're doing, and for teams looking to bring the people who design the product closer to the people who build it.
